Luxor (Ancient Thebes) is described as the largest outdoor museum in the world. It is located on the banks of the Nile which divides the city into two parts; the west side known as the City of the Dead and the east side known as the City of the Living.
Early in the morning one of our professional English-speaking drivers will collect you from your hotel to drive you to Luxor in one of our air-conditioned limousines. On arrival, you will be joined by your personal professional guide who will show you the following:
Karnak Temple: before the entrance to this ancient temple you will walk through the avenue of sphinxes. Once within the walls, you will marvel at the dimensions of the courtyards and halls of this, world’s largest religious complex.
City of the Dead: next we will visit the Colossi of Memnon before venturing towards the Valley of the Kings. Here you will have the opportunity to go inside numerous tombs belonging to the long-dead Pharaohs of ancient Egypt. Here too you will find the tomb of Tutankhamun which contains his remains (extra charge). Following this we will visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
